Adobe Photoshop Elements is a user friendly addition to the Adobe product lineup. This everyman's photo editing program acts as a simplified version of the more professional Photoshop. Simplified features make the photo editing process intuitive and easy, with many of the same features as Photoshop, but fewer user controlled options.

Originally released in 2001, Elements is Adobe's third attempt at an easily accessible photo editing program. This followed the overly simple PhotoDelux, and more cumbersome Photoshop LE. The idea of this program is to keep the learning curve to a minimum while maximizing useful features.

At it's core, users have the ability to edit and organize photos within the program for publishing and web distribution. The standards of home photo editing programs are there, including red eye reduction, skin tone improvement, and color and contrast correction. Additional special effects allow users to transform photos into drawings, black-and-white or sepia. The layers function has given users remarkable control to sequentially edit photos or create drawings from scratch.

The basics of Elements include red eye reduction, skin tone improvement, layer manipulation and correction of color, contrast and lens distortion. Special effects are also there to convert photos to drawings, black-and-white, sepia and more.

A feature missing in this program, is the ability to export files in CMYK color mode. This file type used for commercial printing has a truer printing result than the alternative RGB. Elements outputs an RGB file that is the standard used by home printers and some versions can create PDFs.

Photoshop is the standard amongst professional photo editors. It is also expensive, challenging to learn, and offers many features that the novice will seldom use. While not as complex as Photoshop, there are enough features in Elements that the common user will be lacking no tools. Photoshop Elements has become an cost effective and powerful alternative to advanced platforms, and one worth checking out.

There are many reasons why you may wish to get back the pictures that you have either lost through computer error or that you have decided they are not so bad after all. The best way to do this even if you do not have a technical mind is to use digital photo recovery software. This will mean that you will never again have to go through a re-shoot or pay a computer specialist to do the recovery for you.

Not only is the software able to restore your pictures after you have thought they were lost forever you can also get back other documents and files that you may have also lost and desperately want or need to recover.

A lot of people are unfortunately losing a lot due to different viruses that can infiltrate your computer. This is something that even with the best software cannot always be avoided as new viruses are being created every day. At least now you can recover anything that has been lost because of them.

If you can think of how much time you would have to spend trying to find the files that have been corrupted, deleted or lost for whatever reason then I am sure you can see the value of having a product like this one. It will allow even those with limited computer knowledge to retrieve files without outside help which is a great option for files or pictures that are of a sensitive or private nature.

Never again do you have to panic or look for the right words to tell your manager or clients that the important files that they are waiting for are not obtainable.

Even information that you have on other storage devices can be retrieved without the need for outside help or advice. If only this was something that everyone knew about then a lot of heartache could have been saved when families thought they had lost wedding pictures or those of a child graduating or taking their first wobbly steps.

When preparing for your wedding choosing the best photographer is almost as important as choosing the dress. The perfect photographer for your wedding photos takes great consideration. It is important to choose a photographer that will make you comfortable while taking the photos as well as meet a few other qualifications.

Find a photographer that will be with you throughout the wedding process. This means they must be willing to be present while you are getting ready for the big moment as well as the wedding party preparing for the wedding. The photographer should also be present throughout the entire wedding and a majority of the reception.

When making an appointment for your initial meeting with the photographer, request they bring samples with them. The professional should have a portfolio with previous wedding ceremonies they have worked for. Also ask which poses they will want to take at the wedding.

It is vital to request a face to face meeting with the photographer you are considering. Regardless of how highly recommended they come, you will want to verify your comfort level with the photographer. You will need to sign an agreement specifying cost and hours they will be present.

Decide how many pictures you would like to have prior to arriving at the wedding site. Many brides like to have photos of them putting on the veil and the groom and his wedding party getting dressed as well. Many churches have different rules regarding when photos should be take during the ceremony. It is important to find this information out and pass it along to the photographer.

Be specific on which photos you definitely want during the service. It is also important to agree on when the photos will be taken of the entire wedding party. Some choose to do this prior to the wedding in order to avoid delay in arriving to the reception while most wait until after the service is completely over. It is your decision which time you prefer but you must let the photographer know which you decide.

Hiring a photographer can be an expensive part of the wedding and the price will vary according to the photographer, the hours of service and how many pictures taken. The majority of professional photographers will request a deposit several weeks prior to the day of the wedding. There are some that will request a full payment prior to so it is important to discuss the fees required with the photographer.

If you do not you will able to afford a professional photographer, often times community colleges will have photography students that will take the photos for you. Most often the student will be will to spend as many hours as you want for very little money just for the experience.

If you would like videos of the wedding, it may be more cost efficient to hire a professional to video the ceremony and someone else to take the photos. It is your special day and the wedding photos are something you will have for many years so be choosy in what you want photos of and how many.

The number and diversity of hobbies and interests that we have increase each year. Many of us enjoy collecting arts and crafts. Within this field, aviation art has become one of the most popular forms of pictures to collect. If you have always had an interest in flying then by collecting the magnificent images available of various old and new planes you will be able to explore in detail this fantastic form of travel.

It is important to know how to start an art collection. If you are beginning from new then at first you should choose a certain era or style. There is still a large demand for Second World War aviation art. It was during this period that the world's aviation industry changed from a few small operators to a powerful force creating machines to battle in our skies.

Apart from an era, you could choose a selection of images of specific types of airplanes. Maybe you have also had a curiosity for propeller planes or those made by a particular manufacturer.

But before you start ordering a number of impressive images you should think about whether you will keep them stored away or have them stuck up on display. There is nothing wrong with fixing them to you walls. But this will depend upon whether you are living by yourself or sharing a house with others; not everyone will have the same taste in decor. If you have a computer room or hobby room then this would be a good place to display your collection without offending your housemates.

You also need to think about where you will buy the aviation art from. Thankfully the internet has revolutionized the ease in which we can buy crafts and arts. You no longer need to spend time trying to locate a crafts store or gallery which will charge you high prices. Online art websites can offer a cheaper price. Also, there may not be any other option for you but to shop online as there is possibly no outlet selling aviation art in your area.

When shopping online it is essential to always have in mind the possibility of frauds and scams. When searching for websites selling aviation art you should also jot down their contact address and phone number as if there are any problems with your purchase you will want to be able to speak to someone.

The popularity of aviation art is not new; it has been appreciated for more than 70 years. The concept came about originally in the first half of the twentieth century. At that time the only photographs available were in black and white print; through art a more realistic feeling could be given of the battles being fought.

It was through aviation art that the public were motivated to the cause of defeating fascism in the Second World War. Public opinion was swayed by the images appearing in their newspapers.

Modern aviation art still uses a similar look to that what was created by the original artists. The colors and hues are reminiscent of a past style though of course the aircraft have changed dramatically.

Memory cards Australia are one of the most convenient ways to save a tremendous amount of data without needing to worry about data being lost or destroyed. The cards are tested and can be dropped from as high as ten feet without suffering any damage whatsoever. This makes them great to take on a trip.

Many people became familiar with digital cameras with the introduction of the floppy disk digital camera. For most of those people, these cameras are still valuable because the disks can be used on their home computer and the photos taken are downloaded easily. However, when going on a vacation or long trip, the space that these disks take up can be prohibitive and often require a separate piece of luggage for camera equipment.

If the disks were left out, or dropped, the pictures that had been taken were lost. This meant that a person had to be careful with the disks and often needed to have an extra bag for disks if they went on an outing. When you made a video using the disks, you were limited on the recording time that was available which made capturing special moments difficult.

Using memory cards creates a great avenue for taking photos, making music, downloading data, and recording data. The disks are the size of a postage stamp, but have a tremendous amount of memory for use with PDAs, phones, and other equipment. Type I cards have a larger storage capacity than most cards while Type II cards are thicker and made for specific types of equipment.

Multimedia cards (MMC) have a capacity of 32mg to 1gb and are commonly used in cameras and PDAs. The can be used in the SD card devices but often have less capacity. There is also a reduced size MMC that has the same features as the larger card, but is about half the size. These cards are often used in mobile phones that have multimedia requirements.

Weighing less than 2 grams these cards are incredibly convenient when you are traveling. They have been designed for rigorous use and in memory capacities that will meet the specific needs of a person who regularly downloads information, music, etc., or takes pictures and makes videos.

One of the problems with other types of memory devices is that the internal pieces of the devices can break when they are handled too much. The SD cards are non-volatile and have no moving parts. They are extremely energy efficient and don't need any power to retain whatever items have been downloaded into the card.

Choosing the card that will meet your needs best will be depending on your intended use for the card. If you are going to be making short videos or downloading music, you will want a card that has a larger memory capacity than would normally be required for information or data that requires little memory.

When traveling, the benefits of the memory cards Australia becomes very apparent. A person can pop several cards into a small carrying case and have them on hand to supply any mobile device or camera that they have with them. The cards are affordable and will give you an easy way to make videos, take pictures, download music and collect data whenever needed.

New Photographer Tips You Can Use

Posted by Georgy | 12/26/2009

By Jason Kelly

Some of the nicest and most effective ways for people to capture moments in time are through photographs. That is why it is such a big hobby throughout the world. You can't go anywhere without seeing someone with a camera taking a picture.

Now just being able to capture a nice and perfect photograph is certainly a different story. Definitely, there are many advanced and sophisticated cameras that make taking pictures a lot easier. But the truly creative shots requires skill and practice. So in this article we are going to give you some tips if you are just starting in photography.

First of all, if you want to take beautiful photos, you really have to realize that all it takes is imagination and thought. Sure great equipment helps but it won't help if you don't know what you are doing. So the secret to a great shot is to know why you are taking a photo. You want to know what you are trying to accomplish or what message you are trying to convey. Doing a wedding photographer service has allowed me to see how important this point is.

The next thing you really need to do as a humble beginner is really to get focused when taking shots. Making sure that what you are actually taking a picture of is the center of attention and that is what you want to do. It does not really mean that it is the center of the photo though, it just that it should be clear that it is the subject. This is one of the keys to my success as a photographer.

Finally you have to be fast and detail oriented when capturing photos. Moments and events in time don't last forever and for eternity so if you are not fast enough you can miss it. You have to practice regularly and religiously so that you will be able to see what you definitely want and actually taking. When you are slow you will definitely miss a lot of great shots of actions. This is very important in doing work in my portrait photographer business.

So these tips will hopefully help you in becoming or transforming to a better photographer. Certainly you can't go wrong so long as you continue to make a lot of practice.

It may seem funny to think about the idea of photograph boxes in this day and age, but I believe that their role has become even more important given the current state of things.

It seems like printed photographs are less and less relevant these days. People are doing everything with their digital cameras. Speaking of cameras, even these have quickly become outdated, as many people nowadays are simply using their cell phones to take pictures.

As a result, the pictures we've taken from our past are relics of a sort. They bring us back to an era where things were different, and they should be treated as time capsules.

Photographs like these shouldn't just be thrown into a drawer, as dust and aging can easily contribute to their demise. We want to preserve all of the original attributes so that they all show as much life as they possibly can. This can all be achieved with a reliable photo box.

For starters, if you're buying photograph boxes, you should look for one with strong corners that can withstand any pressure put on them. Most people end up having more than one box, and one with weak corners can easily end up bending and creasing.

This next piece of advice has to do with keeping the quality of your older pictures high, without seeing them turn orange due to acid exposure. Some picture boxes will be lined with acid, and you should avoid these at all costs. The acid will slowly rub onto your images, altering their composition.

As far as styles go, you'll have plenty to choose from. There are leather, metal, and many other materials that could be right for your needs.

You can look online for photo boxes and you'll see a very wide variety of possibilities. Have fun with these, and kudos to you for preserving your memories.

Photography is something that more and more these days is becoming more of a hobby or at least pass time for many of us and for this reason getting help improving your photography skills is something that is more popular than ever now. There are now many photography courses on and off-line available to us all.

The problem is, most of us have very busy lives, and the needs of work, family and friends sometimes mean it's hard to find the time to commit to a daylong digital photography course.

So why not bring the digital photography course into your own home and invest in an internet course instead?

A number of reasons to learn with an online photography course

I can think of a number of benefits to the online approach to teaching yourself proper photography techniques. However the one that most comes to mind is freedom as this way you can easily pick up your books whenever you feel like it and start learning.

Self paced courses such as this are no less informative and useful than college based courses however. You will be provided with in depth course materials, sometimes all based online, sometimes in book form, and sometimes a combination of the two.

Some courses assign each student a personal tutor who can advise on your progress and suggest ways to improve your photographic techniques. You can expect to pay a few hundred dollars for a course such as this, but an online digital photography course is usually very flexible.

You will also find that the majority of online photography courses offer an immediate start after you enroll. This is due to the nature of the course. It does not require lots of students to enroll before it can begin. Everyone works at a different pace and can start and finish the course at leisure.

Also the very Internet itself provides many advantages when it comes to dealing with photos since it is so easy these days to upload your photos online and then show them to your online tutor or at least the author of your course to get his or her feedback.

Talking about dealing with your tutor or course author over the net, communication in general whether it be by e-mail, instant messaging etc can be very easy with an online course.

If you are like most of us today and do not have much spare time I seriously recommend you consider picking up a good online digital photography course and learn whenever you have a spare moment, long-term you will undoubtedly be glad you did.

Guide To Flash Memory Recovery

Posted by Georgy | 12/25/2009

By Trevor Johnson

Many of us almost literally live on the computer, and we take much of our personal information with us wherever we go via a flash drive or external hard drive. If these fail, it becomes critical to find a way to restore information as efficiently as possible. In this article, we will outline the importance of flash memory recovery and some helpful tips to preventing this from becoming a very serious problem.

While this information is helpful, it is not to be seen as professional advice under any circumstances. It was created with the hope of helping even one person avoid a flash memory problem, and how it can possibly be fixed. The best option if tips such as these fail is to consult the handbook that came with the device or find a computer specialist.

If business or pleasure require the need of some extra memory or more storage, flash memory is one of the best inventions available. It is the best way to take information wherever it needs to go, especially for those traveling, but it must be protected to retain the information.

One method of recovering flash memory is by storing it in numerous locations. Back up the hard drive regularly, and, if there have been troubles with the flash memory, think about buying a more appropriate one. Exchanging the flash memory is not quite as costly as it once was, and is more inexpensive every year.

People familiar with computer lingo and tools will understand the Restoration tool in order to fix small errors or restore files. Using this tool, locate the file in the drop-down menu by searching for the name. The first letter of the name is normally replaced by the "?" symbol. Keep in mind that corrupted files or devices may not be able to be restored, and that information may be permanently lost.

A lot of money is spent every year to purchase helpful tools such as portable memory, flash memory, and dozens of similar products. The key is to remember how to use available tools to restore lost or accidentally deleted information, either by memory or by finding the information online or in the handbook. Back up the information daily, weekly, or even monthly, and it will be more secure in case of emergencies.

Solution For My Room Wall

Posted by Georgy | 12/23/2009

By Gordon Foster

I lay back on my bed. I am finally done, and I can finally relax in a warm room with the right atmosphere. It has been a long time, painting my walls a Manchester United Red and moving around new furniture. There is nothing more relaxing than lying on my back and staring at my walls. They were almost perfect. I sighed and looked around. How could I possibly forget? There was nothing on the walls.

I mean, sure, colors are fine, especially when they are the exact match of Manchester United, but it needed decoration. You can't possibly color a house and then simply not decorate it. I went to my computer and sat in my new desktop chair. At least this was finished with. I searched through Google, looking for the right website.

I searched through Google looking for a website that caught my attention. I wanted the perfect posters on my walls. It had to match. Movie posters, music posters, even a Manchester United poster would be awesome. It just can't be dull, boring, or over rated. Suddenly, I found the perfect website.

I finally find a website under all others, going by the name of Poster World. The site was definitely fitting. This was a world of posters.

After having found the perfect posters for my newly decorated room, I was content. I found everything from a poster of my favorite TV show, Futurama, to my favorite group, Linkin Park. I sit down on my bed and look around my new walls. Combined with the red, I was in love. It was perfect, and it was me.

Are Photo Albums Going Digital?

Posted by Georgy | 12/23/2009

By Dean Fellows

It's not impossible that photo albums may soon be a thing of the past in the future thanks to digital photo frames. It seems unlikely that traditional photo frames will vanish anytime soon - they will always have a place - but, considering the extra options that digital frames offer, I could see the possibility of bulky photo albums falling out of use relatively quickly.

Digital photo frames are now a mainstream consumer product. They are no longer thought of as high technology gadgets and, considering the very high sales figures in 2008 (which show no sign of slowing in 2009 by the way), this type of frame is now a feature in many houses.

Whilst the technology is very interesting for many, the main selling point for most people is the added functionality which is offered by digital frames. Some features are essential of course - nobody wants a frame that doesn't have a sharp display and good color reproduction. Frame size will be very much a matter of personal choice. The most popular choice right now is either a 7" or 8" frame, which is a pretty good size for a sideboard or a desk and will suit most people. Larger frames are available - at a little extra - if you want them.

The main selling points that might convince users to opt for a digital frame instead of a conventional frame or photo album are the facts that electronic frames have the ability to store and display large quantities of photos and that there are no processing fees required as no physical copies need to be printed.

Electronic frames can store hundreds, even thousands, of snapshots on a variety of different electronic storage devices. Some frames have their own on-board memory, but those without this simply use cheap memory sticks or cards as the storage medium. Photos stored in this way can be automatically cycled through to show the stored images sequentially in a slide show, with different transitions between photos - or a single picture can be selected and displayed if the user wishes.

This ability to store many more photographs than even the largest traditional bound album is a major benefit. No more rooting around in the attic or searching through old shoe boxes looking for that photo you've just remembered about.

The electronic storage of the images is another plus point. It means that processing charges and printing fees can be avoided but that you can still put your photo collection on display, either for your own personal pleasure or for your friends, family and colleagues.

People will still have their "favourite" snapshots and will probably continue to print out paper copies of a select few of these in future. It seems unlikely that traditional photo frames will disappear completely. However, given the ease of electronic storage and the other advantages enjoyed by digital frames, it doesn't seem unreasonable to suppose that the days of traditional albums may very well be numbered.

In 2008 more than 20 million digital photo frames were sold. There's no doubt that they were the gift of choice during the Christmas period - and it's no wonder; they can be readily personalised by loading photos of family members, friends, holiday snaps etc. With very little effort you will be giving the gift of memories with a one hundred percent unique present.

Sales in the run up to Christmas of 2009 are currently strong. It looks like these frames will be a popular choice again this year - which is good for manufacturers as they are heavily dependent on gift sales.

There is simply no competition between traditional frames and digital frames when it comes to features. The digital variety have the capability to store hundreds, or even thousands, of images on memory cards - which are reducing in price all the time. Most of them have the ability to display slideshows and a large number of frames now incorporate the facility of video and music playback. Remote control, alarm clocks, wireless connectivity, and the ability to keep up to date by means of newsfeeds are just some extra features which are becoming increasingly available on the higher end frames.

The price of digital frames has fallen sharply during the course of the last eighteen months or so. This is partly as a result of material cost savings and partly due to fierce price competition between rival manufacturers.

An additional consideration, which is somewhat less obvious perhaps, is the fact that digital photo frames may be more environmentally friendly. It depends on how many photos you print off or have processed over the course of a year of course. Substituting the use of a digital display for a large volume of printed photographs may be a better, more eco-friendly option. You will be saving on ink, paper and processing chemicals - but this requires to be offset against the cost of the frame materials and the electrical power needed to operate it.

A typical seven inch frame (currently the most popular size) uses around 9 Watts - which is the equivalent of a very low power energy saving light bulb. Turning your frame off when it's not in use will help - many frames now have timers which can do this for you.

Photography can be a rewarding business if you are a careful businessperson and use the right equipment, and the best part is that it can be fairly easy to break into if you're determined and talented. Using eye catching photography backdrops can also improve the appeal of your business.

The investment for a business in photography is pretty minimal. You can start with less than a few hundred dollars, or even with no up front investment if you already own camera equipment. Purchasing photography backdrops can be expensive, but you could start your business in your own home, using amateur backdrops if you need to, in a small room or even just a space that you can dedicate to your business.

You can use digital single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras to bypass the complicated building of a dark room. You can get your business going with a halfway decent PC and some liberal usages of Adobe Photoshop, or another equivalent piece of image editing software.

This might be enough to get by at first, but don't keep your hobbyist hat too long. You've got to be serious about this if you're going to succeed at finding clients and keeping them. This means doing your best with customer service and also improving your equipment.

Even if you start with close to nothing, you're going to want to start purchasing products that widen the scope of your capabilities before long. You'll need multiple types of zooms and an assortment of camera filters to make your pictures stand head and shoulders over amateur work.

As artful as all of this is, it's important to remember that what you're doing is at heart a business, and as such needs to be registered to stay legal. By registering, your business can begin giving out receipts and you can file taxes without worries. Create a name for your business and design a nifty logo that you can slap on all your marketing sheets. This part can be dry, but it's no less important.

It's a good idea to write a business plan for yourself as well. Doing this will help you brainstorm ideas that can help your business become more profitable more quickly. You can also think about ways to strategically market your business. In the beginning, you might want to volunteer your photography for no charge and attend the birthdays of friends and their children. Once they've seen how good your shots are, they won't hesitate to recommend you to other people they know.

Photography might be an easy business to get into, but it's more difficult to succeed at it. If you're looking at opening your own photography business, take it seriously and use professional equipment and keep on hand photography backdrops appropriate for any occasion. Do your best for your clients and do it for a reasonable price and your clients will appreciate your efforts. If you're looking for a new way to make money, there are plenty of worse ways than turning a fun hobby into a new cash cow.

Taking photos of people is very rewarding for photographers. It's not an easy thing to do well, but the end results tend to be more gratifying than any other kinds of photos. What often gets overlooked by most photographers though is the artistic rewards to be found in taking nude photos. Unfortunately, there's a certain negative stigma attached to taking nude photos, and people jump to the wrong conclusion, even though such images have been regarded for thousands of years as a beautiful form of art. Some of the greatest artists that have ever lived have painted, sculpted and photographed people in this manner, so why not you?

The challenge in the nude is clear to see - to capture the greatest of all of God's creation in the most artistic way possible. It's a chance to forget about the materialism and fickleness of clothing and fashion, and to be judged solely on your capabilities as a photographer.

Yet is only a small minority that also take such a view point, and they are predominantly found only in photography and art circles, with the cultural sensitivity of the country as a whole making it difficult for bold and dynamic photographers to achieve this particular artistic goal. For the majority, the subject of how to best take nude photos will always invoke thoughts of dirtiness, rather than thoughts of beauty.

You shouldn't let the uneducated majority prevent you from reaching your potential as a photographer though. Without raising eyebrows or inspiring whispers, you can learn to take nude photos artfully and tastefully from a range of books that are available on the subject...and get real, professional advice from people who know the field and can tell you the techniques and secrets that bring your work from amateur to professional status.

From the selection of the right model, to the editing and post-processing of the image, to printing the image effectively...they're filled with information that would take you months to find out on yourself. By taking advice directly from professionals, you can quickly go from dreaming about it to doing it... and produce real, solid images for your portfolio almost immediately.

UK consumers are buying digital photo frames faster than ever before, according to Futuresource Consulting. 8 million electronic frames were sold in the UK during 2008 and it's estimated that 10% of UK homes now have at least one digital picture frame.

A large number of low cost 7-inch wide screen frames contributed to an increase in sales volume of 60 percent when compared with 2007. Sales are heavily driven by gifting and first time impulse buyers attracted by increasingly low prices. In the period from December 2007 to December 2008 selling prices reduced by roughly 20 percent for the most frequently chosen 7" wide screen model of frame.

The gifting market is very influential and high sales spikes in the period prior to major holidays are common. Many consumers appreciate the ability to personalise these frames by loading them with photos prior to handing over their gift. The possibility of updating the frames also exists, either by wireless download direct from the web or just by simply passing over a memory card with a selection of new photos on it.

The major players - Samsung, Philips, Kodak, Toshiba and Sony - increased their market share to 54% during 2008. However, lesser known brands and generic frames also continued to sell well.

In spite of the current economic climate, sales are forecast to continue to increase by between 10 and 20 percent in 2009. Market watchers are predicting that we will see more and more "convergence products" - items such as TVs, iPods, notebooks etc. which also incorporate picture frame functionality - and that these may gradually lower the sales of dedicated digital frames.

That seems like a reasonable prediction given the number of products which incorporate digital frames today. Keychains with small one and a half inch screen photo frames are probably quite a predictable development - but you can also find products such as travel mugs, desk tidies and even sunglasses which include photo frames on sale today.

As a matter of fact, as frames with increased functionality become increasingly available, it might become difficult to tell whether a particular device is a photo frame which can also be used as a web browser or some other type of device which can also be used to display digital photographs. Frames which can read news feeds from the web and receive photos wirelessly from photo sharing websites already exist. Similarly, there are large screen TVs which, instead of showing a blank screen upon entering into standby mode, can have family photos on show.

In summary, digital photo frames can now be considered to be a mainstream consumer product rather as opposed to a high technology item. Their mass appeal in the gifting market will ensure continued growth in 2009, despite the economic climate, and future technology fusion will fuel further sales growth in the medium to long term.

Everyone who is interested in art knows that wooden photo frames can be expensive when purchased in a store. But what if you want an attractive wooden photo frame that competes with the big boys while offering you a huge price savings?

Here are the steps to making your own wooden picture frame. Follow these and before long you'll have a great looking frame built to the size you want.

(1) Take the artwork you're going to be framing and measure it. Be sure to measure the mat. Measuring the picture itself will cause you to make a frame that is way too small, and in a couple hours you'll have ripped out so much of your hair that you will be bald. This step is neglected more often than you'd think. Even if you know the dimensions of your art, it's never a bad thing to try measuring it one more time.

(2)Buy the corresponding amount of lumber as per the measurements you took in step one. Begin cutting. Make sure to keep those measurements in mind as you go along, because you're not going to get another shot at cutting. The lumber should be divided into four pieces, each section is the complete length added the width of the wood multiply by two.

(3)Trim each edge to a nice forty five degree angle. When you've accomplished this step, you can assemble your wooden photo frame on a tabletop. If it's not looking perfect at this point, don't worry over much. You still have time left to sand down any imperfections that might appear. If it looks big, get your saw back out and start cutting.

(4)Next, sand down each piece when you are finished cutting entirely. A belt sander will be the best help for what you're trying to accomplish. Remember at all times that your frame must be a work of art all in itself. Don't let any shaggy looking wood get through to the final results.

(5)Glue the angled tips of the wooden pieces and use clamps to keep applying pressure. There is going to be some waiting time here, so go find something else to do while you wait for your wooden picture frame to settle.

(6)Put some V nails in each side, one going in and one coming out. This should keep your frame together even if the glue fails. It won't be a perfect fix, but it should keep the shape you want in place long enough to get some emergency glue in the mistaken areas.

(7) Take off the clamps and let it dry. Let it sit until tomorrow morning. By then, your wooden picture frame should be dry. This is the last opportunity you'll get to perfect the frame, by the way, so if there are scruffy edges make sure you sand them off now. When you're sure it looks as good as it can, add some stain if you'd like a color other than natural wood.

Wooden photo frames may be expensive in the store, but they aren't particularly expensive to make. Following the above steps will ensure that you'll make a wooden photo frame that's just as attractive as a store bought one.

With photographs are one of the ways people clearly remember great times in their lives. Just like cell phones and even TVs, cameras are one thing that everyone seems to have. With the advanced cameras out there that are readily available, it is getting easier for people to take perfect photos even if they are amateurs. In this article we are going to examine a few of those best practices and tricks that you can really use.

First of all when taking a photograph usually you are not looking for a portrait type of shot. Usually, people really want to capture the scene which are around them. If that is the case what you can do is sometimes instead of putting the subjects in the center of the photo put the scene. What I mean by that is if there is a nice landmark you can make that the center. Your subjects can basically be off center and this surely looks great. It is a trick I picked up as a San Diego photographer.

Anticipating moments is basically another trick and best practice to taking great photos. You actually see all the time when people just all of a sudden realized that a moment would be a beautiful shot. But a lot of times that moment is over before they can take a photo.

By being prepared for shots you can take those photos you might miss. This requires a skill I developed doing San Diego corporate photographer work. The main thing you have to do is be aware of your surroundings and what is happening. This will certainly make you get ready.

The final tip is generally to be aware of the real beauty that is just around you. A lot of photographs taken by professionals, if you notice, are basically scenic. In other words they are using a location or scene to convey an emotion or story. If you keep an eye out for great locations, then you can do this as well. This is another thing that has worked well doing event photography San Diego work.

So those were some quick tips and helpful guides on taking perfect photos you can use today.

It's been a long seven years for xD memory card customers, but Fujifilm and Olympus have finally decided to start phasing out this product, acquiescing to the power of the more efficient SD memory cards. As an example of how thoroughly whooped the xD memory cards have become, xD card readers are now being sold with SD adapters - that's the closest the manufacturers will ever come to admitting defeat.

Irritated customers all over the country will say this has been a long time coming. The xD memory cards have caused a lot of people a lot of grief. Let's take a look at some of the most reported issues that consumers have had with their xD memory cards.

Files Corrupted, Data Lost

One of the biggest issues customers have reported with the xD memory cards is their tendency to corrupt stored data. Considering these cards are used almost exclusively in digital cameras, losing irreplaceable memories to data corruption is an unforgivable offense. Corruption can occur for almost any reason: using low batteries or turning off the camera while processing or pushing unnecessary buttons while taking pictures.

Brief Lifespan Hurts Reliability

These days, memory cards are built featuring a special technology known as "wear leveling." This technology tracks the usage of the memory on a card by number of blocks, which helps to increase the lifespan of a memory card. This feature only becomes more important as memory cards shrink in physical size.

The manufacturers refuse to address this issue, choosing instead to continue releasing xD memory cards that do not utilize wear leveling technology. As a result, xD memory cards wear out before their SD equivalents.

Low Memory And A Crawling Speed

The xD memory card was initially released with 512 MB. These days, the manufacturers have increased this number to 2 GB, which, although it's definitely a step up from the first number, it's nowhere near what is necessary to store much of anything, particularly if a digital camera is used for recording video. The SD card, by comparison, is available in sizes up to 32 GB. The xD memory cards are also much slower than the competition.

Low Quality Meets High Prices

Most xD memory cards don't hold much storage space, have more problems with data corruption, are slower than SD cards, and have short lives. Seeing as how they are inferior to the SD cards, it would make sense if they were also cheaper, but the 2 GB xD card is actually twice as expensive as a similarly sized SD card. In fact, there are some larger SD cards that are still cheaper than that 2 GB xD memory card.

Final Thoughts: SD Memory Cards Are The Future

The economy that we live in these days makes consumers side with whatever takes the least amount of green out of their wallets. By this litmus test, it's no shocker that xD is failing and the SD is taking its place. If Fujifilm and Olympus are not about to improve their product and take steps to improve their cards for widespread camera use, then what other choice do consumers have?

The bride is the centre of attention in a marriage ceremony, thus how she looks and how she has dressed up becomes very important. The dress must be such that it can improve your beauty in the eyes of invitees and can look good on photographs, and the following suggestions in this regard would help you achieve that.

The foremost factor about choosing bridal wear is how reliable the store is, as the store owner must ensure you of prompt delivery of the dress. The location of the shop is essential too as you don't want to cover long distances for the several fitting sessions that a dress requires.

A striking colour must be selected for a wedding gown that will make you look even more attractive. It is judicious to go through catalogues of dresses in different colours before deciding upon one. However, fashion and looks should not be overemphasized at the expense of comfort. If you dress light and comfortably on your wedding day, you will not only look good but also feel good, and the better you feel, the more you take pleasure in the occasion.

When choosing the wedding gown, you should always remember how it will appear in the photographs. If you are settled in Singapore, there should not be any difficulty in contacting a photographer and taking his advice on which colours and shades are better for pictures.

Almost all the major commercial centres have good Singapore wedding photographers waiting to help you out. Such photographers can also be contacted online. Many wedding photography Singapore based firms are well known in the area, but do take advice from your wedded friends and relatives before selecting one. How able and experienced the photographer is will greatly determine the end product that he will offer, so if there is any fault on your part in picking the organization, you may have to suffer the consequences later on.

Photography is a great hobby, the only small problem is that, somehow or another, taking photographs has always been a lot easier than sharing them. Years ago it was extremely common to find roll upon roll of undeveloped film tucked away in kitchen drawers. Sometimes they would lie there so long that they went off and the colours weren't good when you got them back from the developer.

The alternative was to use a Polaroid camera. The picture slowly appeared in front of your eyes, without the need to send your film off for developing - it was a pretty exciting process sometimes. However, the Polaroid film was pretty pricey and you couldn't get extra prints as you had no negative. For a lot of people, the uniqueness of Polaroid prints was actually part of the charm.

Things are a bit different today; modern photographers will typically have their work stored on memory cards - or maybe on their computer's hard drive. At the end of the day, the result is the same - all those digital photos are unshared and unappreciated.

So, rather than thinking of digital photo frames as the latest high technology gadget, you might want to consider that their main function is to help you by providing a simple and convenient method for you to get your photos on display to as wide an audience as possible.

It's really easy to load up your snapshots into digital frames. There's no need to wait for them to be returned from the processing lab and there are no printing or processing costs associated with their use. They offer functions such as slide shows, background music using mp3 files, some of them can show short videos and - should you become bored with your current selection of photos on display - then it's a simple matter to change them.

Right now there are frames to suit all budgets available. You will find small one and a half inch square frames, which fit on a keychain, for less than $10. Or, if you prefer, you can get 12 and 15" frames which will probably have a ticket price of a couple of hundred dollars. Whatever type of frame you decide upon, the key thing is to take advantage of the technolgy to get as many of your photos out on display where people can see them.

Blogs, websites and various web pages profit from high sales conversions when they have the right digital camera images to accent their content. Online businesses understand better than anyone that a picture is worth a thousand words.

Where can online businesses find these images? They can take their own photos with their own digital camera, but they don't always have the time. Another option is to use an image from a photo sharing site, but they have to have permission to use the photo. Better yet, they can download quality images from a stock photography site for a small fee.

Stock photography sites were created to act as online brokers and galleries for stock photos. Various photographers use their digital camera to produce photos of different theme topics. Stock sites then charge a fee per image download. Photographers earn a percentage of that fee.

The great thing is that photographers still keep the rights to their photos while still earning a nice income. The higher the demand for a particular topic theme, the more likely the image will be downloaded. Are you ready with your digital camera?

You don't have to be a Pulitzer prize-winning photographer to be able to profit from this demand. You simply need to know how to take good pictures. The better the quality of your images, the more likely it will be accepted by stock photography sites and the more likely you will make money from them.

Did you know that a picture of a family playing on the beach made an average $369 a month? Imagine if you had 20 or even 30 images that did this well. You could stir up quite a bit of income for yourself. Turn your shutter happy hobby into a money-making endeavor. As long as you take pictures of topics that are in demand, you can consistently profit from your photos. So, do you have your camera handy?

Basically there are many great events in our lives. Some might be family and personal type of events. While others are more business and could be related to our company and the work we do.

One thing for certain is that many of these events require a photographer. So in this article we are going to examine a couple of things to actually make sure that you get the most out of the photographer.

First of all if it is a grand event like a wedding then you definitely want to get the most out of your hired photographer. After all you have given them the honor of capturing one of your most essential events in life. As a San Diego wedding photographer I am not against getting suggestions from my clients. Things like the type of photos you want taken. These are things that will definitely help the photographer to know how to do a better job.

Well there are actually other events such as graduations or other events in the lives of your children. Now all of them don't need a professional photographer but some can use them. As a San Diego photographer I have done all kinds of events for parents. When you do hire a photographer for something like a graduation let them know how you want the photos done. In other words if you need to perfectly capture all the moments like a photo story you just let them know. This helps them focus on the important shots for you.

Then of course there are actually your standard portrait type of pictures. Things like family pictures fall into this category. Here is where you definitely have to let them know how you want the photos captured. Because if you don't they will take the shots they think works rather then what you want. So I make it a point in my San Diego event photography service to get their opinion.

When hiring a photographer if you do these things you will get the most out of your photographer.

Astronomy is the study of the universe. It is a serious science, but also a very pleasurable hobby. Therefore, whenever an astronomy picture of the day is offered to people, they usually accept it. There are plenty of such pictures to choose from, and plenty of interesting objects out there to keep people looking.

Of course ,NASA is one of the primary sources for an astronomy picture of the day. This site, NASA.gov, shows a new image each and every day. There is also a section that shows videos. These could be used to create your own photo site. Saturn's moon Enceladus was the 'star' feature on November 5, 2008.

This footage was taken by a passing spacecraft. It can reproduce details the size of a bus. The ice on this moon reflects as glare, nearly 100% of all the sun light that strikes it. So you would need to wear sunglasses! This moon is so interesting that Cassini will continue to fly by for more images later on in its mission.

NASA maintains an archive of all the astronomy image of the day dating all the way back to June 16 of 1995. It was a 'what if' image of the Earth posing as a neutron star. The image is a computer generation. The most interesting feature is that the constellation Orion is visible twice. Even light from behind a neutron star is visible because the dense star bends the light all the way around it. This causes some double vision.

The entry for September 8th, 1995 was an amazing photo of the central part of the 'Milky Way' galaxy taken by NASA's COBE satellite. This area is normally invisible because of the dust masking it. But COBE scans in infrared, so produced that fantastic photo of our very symmetrical galaxy.

The astronomy picture of the day was the same on January 1, 2000 and January 1, 2001. The reason both dates shared this image is that most people considered the year 2000 as the first year of the third millennium.

However, the third millennium actually commenced on January 1st, 2001. NASA reasoned it was just better to just go with the flow and do it on both dates. apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap010101.html displays mankind's view of the galaxy as it developed from mere objects circling the Earth, all the way to the 'Big Bang' creating the universe as we see it today.

NASA has many more days with their very own unique astronomy picture of the day. Visit their website, NASA.gov to view them.

Although we all place tremendous value on our family photos, today's economic climate and hectic lifestyle prevents the majority of us from pursuing any form of photography courses which would allow us to capture the perfect memories on film or hardrive. This is not a problem, as there are many tips and insider secrets which go a long way towards you taking photos with an undeniable professional edge to them.

The most important thing in your picture is simplicity. You want to maintain one focal point in the picture or else it will look too busy. In a family portrait, this will be the people in your photograph. Try and make sure clothing is kept to bright, solid colours (clothing with logos or more elaborate design such as stripes and patterns can be a distraction). Try to pick a background with large, repetitive patterns e.g. a hedge or a wall. If the background is too distracting, either move or blur the background in your photograph This keeps attention on the focal point of your picture. You should also allow plenty of space on either side of the end people in case of future cropping (you don't want people with lost limbs in your photo).

Outside photos always benefit from being taken at a time with the optimum level of light; either at sunrise or sunset. However you should avoid taking your photo in direct sunlight. If you have situated your subject in a more shaded position then you should make use of the flash. Inside photos should always be taken with a flash, and you should consider your distance from the subject when using the flash (if your camera has an ISO of 100, then distance yourself twelve feet away). You should try and avoid including mirrors or other objects with reflective surfaces in the background of your photo. If this is unavoidable then make sure the flash is not perpendicular to the object.

Framing is another important part of the finished photo. Try and look for such backdrops as doorways, arches and windows which act as a border for your subject. This will place emphasis on your focal point and leads to a better photo. As your family are unlikely to remain still while you're taking your photo, you should check your digital camera's LCD screen for any mistakes such as closed eyes. Even if you can not spot any irregularities, it is always a good idea to take multiple photos in case you missed something. If you are using an older camera, multiple shots are essential.

These simple tips go along way towards establishing you as a better portrait photographer, and will make sure your special family memories are yours forever.
