Bringing a new baby into the world is a joy to behold. An addition to the family is great news that you can't help but want to share with the world. Good news shouldn't be kept secret, and there are some great ways to share the announcement with everyone.

As few as 10 years ago, people would have told friends and family about new children with a few well-placed phone calls to the most connected gabbers. Traditional letters have often been used to circulate good news about a new baby birth.

Now that we've entered into the digital age, a lot more information is passed along through email. Overseas relatives can stay in the loop through video chat or VOIP, and see how the baby is growing up. People can still send traditional mail, but it doesn't seem to happen as much.

Social media is another way that families can announce a new baby. People are so connected via social networking sites and microblogging that the word can quickly spread over the Internet.

There are also families that will simply post the information on their own blog. This is becoming a more common method to share pictures and information with others about their current situation. Family members become accustomed to looking there for information, and then they will find out about the birth without having to wait to receive something.

And even though announcements in the mail are getting less common, they still retain a certain amount of popularity because of a new digital technology that allows parents to design beautiful custom photo birth announcements that make wonderful keepsakes.

New parents simply have to use an online program to input the baby's information (like height, weight, etc.) and then include their favorite picture of the newborn. The program will be able to generate a professional photo birth announcement that can be printed and sent to friends.

A good photo birth announcement is just one of the multiple ways that new parents can spread the word about their new arrival. All it takes is a little time to find the method that will appeal to your friends and family, and they will all look forward to receiving the news.
