Fly tying feathers are available all over the world. The internet has been used to locate companies that offer tools and supplies for fly-tiers and salmon fishermen. Furs, skins and feathers are the main raw materials for those that engage in activities that imitate the salmon fly. Peacock fur is effectively used to create beautiful fly designs due to is very attractive colors. It is used to create several playful structures and it is best if obtained near the eye area. Each bird species is able to produce various fly structures in different situations and conditions. Every singe feather displays uniqueness in its functions and ability.

Specific species will effectively utilize the materials to make specific structures under different demands and requirements. Every species is useful and none has better functionality than the other. The name of the bird says a lot about its originality.

Fly fishing is a very stimulating activity. The starter may use plastic flies but after more exploration you will feel like enjoying the pleasure that comes with tying your own flies. Using feathers to tie flies makes the artificial structures to look functional and very attractive. Tying is a hobby and fishermen save a lot of costs while at it.

Fly tying feathers help in designing artificial structures that resemble real insects that are eaten by different fish. They are made to appear like they are so alive in order to manipulate the fish. The natural qualities of feathers some of which are round in shape, small, fluffy and firm give the tied structure different characteristics.
