At times, you might listen to a song and think to yourself, "the lyrics and beat combination are just off the hook". You might immediately give credit to the artist. You might even wonder why you find it difficult coming up with something even half as creative. You simply sit at your music production equipment staring at it blankly. Nothing seems to come your way in the form of inspiration.

Great artists simply find ways to get past these low points when inspiration and ideas don't seem to come by easily. They can find ways to get their thoughts into motion and then channel them. This way, they reach a point when they are able to find inspiration to create a beat that receives massive airplay and a huge following. Although talent plays a role in production, these people know that talent alone doesn't help them create the best sounds consistently. It is an ongoing process. And it's this process that will help you get past the barriers limiting your creative juices. When you run out of creativity, there are a couple of tricks to try out.

Break it down to small manageable chunks. Break down your track into small manageable chunks rather than try to work on it all at once. Instead of trying to bring many sounds together to create your beat, break it down into manageable parts, each consisting of a few sounds. In time, you will create the desired sound.

Cut on the sounds. Although it might be tempting to keep adding new sounds in a bid to create the perfect beat, it's advisable to concentrate on just a few sounds per beat. The general rule is using more synthesizers than necessary in your beat makes it more confusing.
