Hindi film industry has been blessed with some of the greatest talents ever in the world- be it actors, actresses, directors or technical crew. Sadhana Shivdasani is one such actress, whose acting ability has attracted several Indian audiences and especially she was known for her fringe. She has portrayed roles with perfection and extreme care that her popularity was not affected by other actresses of those times. Everyone knows that Sadhana always admired the talented actress Nutan and this admiration might be seen in her enactment also. Sadhana Shivdasani, born on 2nd of September 1941 had a family, where everyone loved movies. Hindi film actress Babita (Karishma's and Kareena's mother) is one of her relatives.

Sadhana Shivdasani started acting in plays while she was in college. Her debut big screen appearance was in the 1st Sindhi film Abana in 1960. Filmmaker Subodh Mukherjee asked to perform the main role for his upcoming movie Love In Simla, opposite to his son, Joy Mukherjee. This film was directed by first time filmmaker R K Nayyar, who after a few years got married to Sadhana. The fringe, which made her popular in the following years, was asked to be cut by R K Nayyar.

Besides starring in romantic films, Sadhana also acted in horror movies. Saaya, Anita and Woh Kaun Thi? were horror films, for acting in which she received good comments. Her scintillating and captivating enactment in the films Aarzoo, Ek Phool Do Maali, Mere Mehboob and Inteqaam boosted her already successful career. She became the nominee in Best Actress Award category (Filmfare Awards) for Woh Kaun Thi? (1964) and in 1965 for Waqt.

In 1974, she directed and starred in the movie Geeta Mera Naam. After her marriage with R K Nayyar, she made up her mind to stop acting. Sadly they were not blessed with a child. Her connection with films was not easily broken. She participated actively in all the activities of the production company, the couple founded. Her disinterest in portraying supportive roles made her refuse all offers.

She got many opportunities to act opposite to several Bollywood actors, popular at that time. Rajendra Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Sunil Dutt and Dev Anand were some of those well known actors. A few of her romantic films and suspense thrillers are considered to be classics in the movie industry. She is definitely an actress who acts with finesse and grace and has created an unique place in the industry.
