It's one of the prettiest urban parks in the town of Calgary. It is the heart of the most enthralling and the largest events and festivals. And it's definitely an excellent place of escape from the hustles and bustles of the city life. Prince's Island Park is indeed a place to be.

Prince's Island Park is the urban park in Calgary that is developed on an island on the Bow River. It is immediately found at the north of Downtown Calgary. Named after the founder of the Eau Claire Lumber Mill, Peter Anthony Prince, this park was built on the land donated by the their family. It is sometimes mistakenly called the "Princess Island Park".

The island park has a surface of 20 hectares and is linked by three bridges to Eau Claire, Downtown Calgary and Commemorative Drive and Crescent Heights community. Prince's Island Park is a part of the smashing trail and hiking trail system of the Bow River. A wetland environment can be seen at the eastern end of the island and a beautiful landscaped area at the southern arm. A number of geese and mallard ducks can be seen playing and swimming around the island park.

Prince's Island Park is also the home of the ChevronTexaco Learning Pathway. It's an environmental educational pathway on the east end of the park. It winds around an assembled wetland that is meant to treat stormwater before entering back to the Bow River. ChevronTexaco is an amazing pathway that provides an environmental, tutorial and recreational resource for individuals that connects them with nature in a interactive way.

Go there for a picnic, or watch an event. Or maybe enjoy the river and their numerous playgrounds and never-ending paths. Have a different experience during summer days or winter days. Whatsoever you want to do or would like to do, you'll certainly find Prince's Island Park a nice home and a great escape in the town.
