We have seen many news trends come and go in fashion. This industry is, in fact, the most volatile and versatile industry among all. But one style that has remained steady through time immemorial has been turban colors. We see men today sporting turbans that match their clothes and apparels.

Earlier in the days people only saw two colors as being socially acceptable, black and white. But these days are gone now. The men of today are as interested in fashion as the women and they are not hesitant to try their hand at different color combinations either. This is truly the era of the emergence of the metro sexual male.

Wearing turbans is a part of the culture of many countries especially in the Middle East and South Asia. Although it is an age old custom, it is still followed by people. There are certain religions too that demand its followers to wear a turban every day, while there are others in which it is required only on certain events or occasions.

For example, Sikhs wear turbans every day. It is a part of their daily attire, although the style of wearing it may differ from person to person. On the other hand, people belonging to the Hindu religion wear turbans only on special occasions like weddings or any religious day.

For those who are not aware, turbans are basically long rectangular pieces of fabric or cloth that are wound around intricately on the top of your head. One can tie it in many different ways giving it a new look and design. The fabric or cloth can also be of your choice. The most common type of cloth are cotton and silk because they are easy to manage and maintain. But for special purposes one can go in for more expensive type of material.

This piece of garment is not used only for religious or fashion purpose. It has many other uses as well. The residents of sandy or desert areas wear turbans as protection against the sand, dust and also the heat of the sun. In certain other cultures it is used as a mark of the caste of a person i. E. Whether the person is royalty or a commoner.

Sikhs do not cut their hair as a mark of respect of their religion. They wear it to protect their hair from dust and pollution. It is believed that the turban was established as a sign of identification by the Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh. So, it is imperative for all people of this religion to wear them every day. Even the women are allowed to follow this practice.

Kalansuwa is another type of turban that is worn by Muslim elders. It is a cloth that is wrapped around a cap. The Muslim religion does not require everyone to wear a kalansuwa, but people do wear them out of their own wish.

Initially when this practiced was adopted it was restricted to religious men and devout followers. And they only wore the color white. But as it was adopted by the general public, various other trends also emerged and people started showing a preference for different colors and designs. As a result there are many shops that cater specifically to this need. We even have online stores from where such purchase can be made. Turban colors really do add color to your life.
