When it is the practice of family members to record special occasions through the use of a camera there will soon be a need for a space in which to store them in an organized way. As a result of this need the practice of archival photo storage has come into being.

The items that have been created to accommodate this need for storage often include such things as crystal clear bags, print sleeves, boxes, and print storage. The materials that these items are made out of are devoid of any acid that can cause damage to those precious pictures. This in its turn will add to the life expectancy of a photo which will result in a family having more time to enjoy them.

Acquiring a number of specially designed boxes will help an individual get started on their project of organization of all their pictures. Each can then be labeled with a specific event, person, or year in mind. This will then allow for quick access to a shot should there be a specific need for it in the future.

If there is a special need for more careful handling of a specific print a clear bag can be used. The picture can be slipped inside of it and sealed in via an attached adhesive flap. This stops any damage from accruing as a result of the photograph coming into contact with the acid produced by one's fingers.

Should one wish to have their photos displayed in an album they should have on had many plastic sleeves of various sizes. Then it is a simple matter to slip a print inside an opening and place them inside the album. In this way one has a means to protect and show off those meaningful moments one has captured for future reminiscing.

Protecting memories is a primary reason for archival photo storage to exist. Thus the employment of such methods will give one the knowledge that they have done all they can to prevent a loss that could be heartbreaking.
