If you are a nature lover you really must visit our National Parks. Yellowstone photography is quite easy for both professional and amateur photographers because the beauty and opportunity abounds. Whether you are interested in extraordinary landscapes or wildlife you will find it all here. Have your camera with you and ready at all times.

How much you will be able to see and explore depends on the amount of time you have. The park is spread out over a wide area with each section offering a different type of landscape. Your best bet is to study a map and determine which areas you want to see. Begin your day early and plan on spending the whole day out and about.

In the north eastern section between Canyon Village and Tower Junction you will find the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. This magnificent gorge is worth the drive to get there and is quite photogenic. The Tower Falls are another spot you may want to include on your itinerary.

The southern part offers a full range or geological wonders that are truly a sight to behold. Old Faithful is probably the best known and one of the most photographed natural wonders in the park. Other views of the geological area look like they are from another world.

While you are driving to your planned destination be on the watch for wildlife. You will spot many buffalo herds as well as many elk. Depending on what area you are traveling through you may also see wolves or even bears. When you pull off the side of the road to take pictures keep in mind that the animals are wild and you need to keep a safe distance from them.

If you come across an area where there are many cars pulled off and parked along the road side you have found a Bear Jam. Most likely a bear has been spotted close by and people have stopped to take pictures. Usually the Rangers are aware of these sightings and will be present to help keep everyone at a safe distance from the animals. This can be a great photo opportunity for you as long as you pay heed to whatever instructions the Ranger may give you.

Have a great time exploring the beauty of Mother Nature and all of her wonders. You can share all of your photos back home with family and friends. Your pictures will also act as a reminder of the cherished times spent exploring one of the most beautiful areas on this planet.
