This is the same run of the mill point and shoot, pretty much the same as most and the same quality, there are a lot of features and the video recording is decent. This camera is perfect for someone who wants a point and shoot camera that they don't have to worry about breaking. It has been about 3 months and now the camera won't even turn on. I'm sending it back to Olympus, we will see, I researched "Tough" Cameras for a few months before I made my purchase.

I have not tested the waterproof as of yet but will this eve and I am sure it will do just fine. I must say that so far this is one sweet camera and I am not a photographer newbie and take my cameras and work serious so if you take the time to set your camera up and go through your menu setup you will be just fine. I love the stability control which allows for great pictures even when your hands aren't the steadiest. I also love that you don't have to freak out if you drop it, or submerge in water. I returned this camera for a full refund after some slight issues with Amazon. Based on this issue alone, ("blade type shutter cover over the lens that slips behind the body on operation, I can see this getting stuck eventually") I would recommend - do not purchase this camera! It does have a slow return so I need to find that option of turning off the preview to make the return quicker. The camera is great.

The camera work wonderfully. I took it snorkeling twice and love the pictures and video I got.

Many families were asking about it and after my friends saw what it did they went out and purchased them for themselves as well. Of course I am the only one with a bright pink camera.

I went surfing with a friend that had this camera and ever since then I wanted, no I NEEDED this camera. Luckily my wife dropped our old camera (from three feet) and the whole thing broke.

It's pretty sturdy and thicker than the last one I had but it is still very light. I have not yet tested the waterproofing yet, nor dropped it on purpose because I would rather not scratch it. This being said, it has broke twice while using it underwater. The screen will say "no connection" when I try to turn it on.

I also saw the same issue with poor focusing on anyone/anything moving. Rugged Design and feel Cons: Needing to hook up to a PC to "initialize" the camera I just bought this camera at best buy in Miami on vacation. Save your money and buy one with a separate underwater housing- wish I had now. Rinsed off the saltwater and took it to the mountains for the long shots. It is small enough for a pocket and great for hiking and backpacking - no worries on dropping. The pictures I have taken both indoors and outdoors are clear not grainy and the HD video is awesome. This camera even has sound when previewing your vids from camera, which I love since my Kodak didn't.
