What Assateague Horses Are About

Taking pictures of the equines is something many people love. Finesse, good form, and grace are exuded by these animals. Their colors, sizes, and breeds can also vary. Some wild versions of them still exist, despite being generally domesticated, serene, and tame. Among them are the Assateague horses. The Assateague Island is the home of these equines. It is a large barrier island between the states of Virginia and Maryland. Photographers favor these wild equines as subjects. Learn then some information about them.

Feral is a term that applies to them. Domesticated animals who have turned wild is what feral will mean. Surviving can still be done by these animals even amidst harsh weather conditions, pest infestations, and poor food quality. Survival in the natural settings have been learned by them. Care and feeding by humans are not required. Human food can even make them ill. Begging food in roads have led to accidents for them.

The roots of such animals are not definite. Some folk tales claim they descend from those equines from a shipwrecked Spanish galleon. Such story is not yet proven since they do not possess evidence. They might also be animals which crossed coming from the mainlands.

Various tourists could flock and see such equines. There are two refuges or national parks which cares for such animals. They are called sometimes as Chincoteague ponies. Such animals usually go in herds. It would be nice to find them in the natural habitats and observe their wild practices. For this reasons, photographers adore them.

If you want to take pictures of them, you should learn to keep distance. You should give space despite the strong temptation to picture them close. They can kick, knock you down, or bite people.

Such animals must be really preserved. Luring them with food should not be done. Their treatment should not be the same with the domesticated equines.

Nature lovers, nature photographers, and horse lovers would really be amazed with assateague horses. These graceful, tough, and wild equines can really be interesting to look at.
