Karan has created some of the blockbusters, most of which has starred the King Khan, like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which bagged numerous awards. It was also Karan's most successful start up as a director. This movie became a huge hit as it was a beautiful blend of romance and family drama. Also the movie was highly acclaimed amongst the audience abroad and many youngsters followed it as a cult.

His other movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham , which was the romantic drama, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, whose theme was adultery and My name is Khan, which received both positive and negative reviews, became box office hits.

At present he is busy with his new project, Student of the Year, which casts three new entries in Bollywood namely Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra.

It is for the first time that Karan Johar is launching a film with fresh faces. This very fact has increased the onus on the producer director making him more involved in the entire process. Karan has personally overlooked the detailing of the film.

He is totally engrossed in his current assignment and is spending more time script reading with his stars so that they could understand and completely get into their characters. We have heard that he is personally mentoring all his leads and he drops in frequently during the choreography to make sure that his actors feel comfortable.

On the whole, Karan Johar has been very upbeat and enthusiastic about this project. Even the sets were brimming with energy due to so many young people present. It looks like an energy packed film with fun, laughter, competition and youthfulness!!
