Weddings can be very chaotic for everyone involved in the wedding. As a wedding photographer it's a great idea to have a plan, and schedule so that you can make the most of your time, and capture the best and most photographs possible in the given amount of time to ultimately make the bride and groom happy.

The day of the wedding before you even head to the location, you will want to make sure you eat something since you don't know how busy you will be, and you might not even get a break to eat. Pack all of your gear ahead of time and double check that everything is charged and working. Make sure that you have everything that you need including your cameras, batteries, memory cards, etc.

Before the ceremony begins, it's likely that the bride and groom will want photos taken of the behind the scenes before the ceremony takes place, getting ready stages. You can get to the venue, or hotel where they are getting ready to capture some of these shots. Some shots to include are the bride getting her hair and makeup done. The bride's dress hanging nicely, the bride's shoes alone, the bride's bouquet alone, the bride getting zipped up into her dress, as well as the bride putting on her shoes, or getting her veil pinned in are also great shots that you should include. Once you have captured the bride getting ready, you can also capture the groom getting ready along with members of the wedding party. If you have time take some photos of the venue including the ceremony and reception areas as well as any detailed photos of the table arrangements, and decorations. Now is a great time to also get photos of guests arriving.

Before the ceremony begins make sure you get shots of all important members of the wedding party as well as family members. Include shots of the parents and grandparents if present. Get shots of each member of the wedding party including all bridesmaids individually, groomsmen individually and bridesmaids with groomsmen. Also get individual shots of the maid of honor as well as the best man. Once the ceremony begins make sure to get shots of everyone walking down the aisle, especially the bride walking with her father, and the father handing her off to the groom. During the ceremony keep taking photos of every moment, the bride and groom will appreciate every detailed shot. Keep shooting when the couple returns down the aisle as husband and wife.

After the ceremony has ended, you'll want to get some action shots of everyone approaching the Bride and Groom to congratulate them. This is a great time to capture the emotions of everyone who is involved with the wedding, family and friends.

As a photographer it's great to have a plan before going to any wedding, as it helps you to keep on task and make the most of your limited time. This is a great guideline to follow for any wedding photographer as it will keep you on track and remind you to get many of the shots that the bride and groom will want to keep forever.
