The Carole Sund Foundation is a non-profitable organization which helps families and friends find missing people and at the same time with the help of local police, help in catching the criminals behind such horrifying acts.
Francis & Carole Carrington's daughter Carole Sund along with their grand daughter Juli and family friend Silvina Pelosso had gone missing from Yosemite National Park, Central California, United States in the year 1999.
When they failed to return back, the parents immediately filed a missing report with the local police and even advertised in the media with rewards to any person providing vital information or leads to the case. This helped them find the car but the 3 were missing never to be traced.
In America alone, there are 900,000 missing cases filed every year which was just about 150,000 missing cases filed 25 years back. That means the missing cases has increased 6 folds since the last 25 years. And astonishingly, it works out to more than 2,300 cases per day.
There are reasons for people to go missing. Some of the common ones begin at home such as physical abuse of kids either by parents or their siblings, kids feel bored at school when not paid attention to or get being bullied by seniors, severe missing cases can be murders, suicides, abduction etc.
If a person goes missing on his/her own accord, than there are likely chances that they will return back but that depends on various factors such as age, pre-planning, their ability to stay away, financial problems etc.
If parents and family members take proper precautions, the missing ratio can be drastically reduced. Some of the main points to be noted are 1) Teaching kids to pronounce their full name, home address & phone number. 2) Teach them how to call the police helpline number incase of any emergency. 3) Parents must keep a file of their child's latest photographs. 4) Teach kids to avoid talking to strangers who offer them chocolates etc. 5) Educate kids not to open doors to any strangers when they are alone at home.
If you wish to know more about missing persons, you can log on and help the foundation find people who are missing. The foundation also provides cash rewards to successful leads provided and even keeps the identity of the informer a secret.
