Recently a lot of new talented stars have entered into the film industry. Several upcoming Hindi films are using new actors over well established actors because many of their movies do well.

Other than that youth oriented films demand young artists. Currently there are a lot of new artists who have got their break in conventional Bollywood films.

Shahid Kapoor is an example of a young actor who appealed to the audience with the sweet boy look in debut movie Ishq Vishk Pyaar Vyaar. Several his following films flopped and it was through Jab We Met starring Kareena Kapoor that he tasted success. Shahid proved himself once again as an actor of great potential through his role in the popular film Kaminey. His upcoming Hindi films are Milenge Milenge along side Kareena Kapoor and Mausam along side Sonam Kapoor, his father's directorial debut.

In Contrast the flamboyant young actor Ranbir Kapoor, son of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh could not make it big with his debut film Saawariya. However he won the Filmfare Award for the Best Male Debut actor for his role in Saawariya.

His following film Bachna Ae Haseeno both audience and critics in his favor and did commercially well. Other films such as Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Wake Up Sid proved successful commercially but both films evoked mixed responses. His 2010 ventures are the recently out Rajneeti and Anjaana Anjaani along side Priyanka Chopra.

Abhay Deol is another promising new actor who is popular for his different choice of films and roles. In 2005, he opted for Socha Na Tha as his debut film which was very unlikely choice for a first time actor. This movie did not evoke public interest and went unnoticed. His film Oye Lucky Lucky Oye released in 2008 was a commercial hit which fetched him good reviews.

Anurag Kashyap's Dev D proved that Abhay Deol was an upcoming Bollywood star to look out for. He will be seen in forthcoming Bollywood films of Zoya Akhtar and Rajshri Ojha titled Running with the Bulls and Aisha respectively.
