Tom Ford glasses are highly coveted objects of style no matter where you are in the world.

The rich and famous from all industries line up to be the lucky first few to grab new Tom Ford eyewear, glasses, and sunglasses. One of the most influential and recognizable wearers is Angelina Jolie, a real fashion maven.

Tom Ford is an American designer who dominates many areas of fashion at the highest levels, all over the globe. In combination with his eyewear collections, he develops and sells men's fashions, women's fashions, and beauty products and fragrances for all seasons.

But the talent of Tom Ford does not end there. He also makes movies. In fact, he directed (and wrote and produced) a fine movie called: A Single Man. Its leading actor, Colin Firth, was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar. That's just another way that style overflows from Tom Ford- and into every pair of Tom Ford glasses.

Style and Design of Tom Ford Glasses

The hallmark of Tom Ford eyewear is composed styling coupled with an inventive color palette. These are fashion-forward eyeglasses, but they don't push the envelope into too much lavish opulence the way many European designers do.

Tom Ford glasses show an appreciation and fundamental understanding of the best designs that history has produced, like aviator frames, wayfarer shades, and oversize glasses. But they are not copied or replicated.

Instead, great reverence is paid to stunning silhouettes that are given new breath in the 21st century. Even the icon of Tom Ford eyeglasses, the sleek metal "T" emblem, gleams from the temples with subtle restraint.

The people you see wearing Tom Ford project a certain confidence and cool reserve. They aren't the people making the loudest noise and the party- they just have the most listeners. They prefer Tom Ford eyewear for the same reasons they choose a fine car- it looks great, feels solid, and works perfectly.

Tom Ford glasses do what they are meant to with quality, elegance, and panache.

Tom Ford's Walk to Famous Designer

Starting out in Austin, Thomas Carlyle Ford, grew up in Santa Fe. Before starting college, he moved to New York City, later deciding to attend New York University and studying art history.

Studying in Europe at Parsons School of Design on an overseas exchange, he decided to switch to architecture. That was the degree program he ultimately completed.

Tom Ford's journey towards his iconic line of Tom Ford glasses began in 1990. He relocated to Milan and joined Gucci as the Womenswear Designer. Tom excelled at the Italian design house revealing himself to be a "rock star."

Promotions at Gucci came easily for Tom Ford. in 1992, he became Design Director. In 1994, he was promoted again to Creative Director with responsibility for all clothing and perfumes, Gucci's entire brand strategy, and design of their boutiques. He was only 33 years old.

Gucci bought Yves Saint Laurent in 2000. And who better to lead the new acquisition than Tom Ford. Tom took on the role of Creative Director for both YSL and Gucci. He was again successful at building the new brand and was chosen as the Vice Chairman of Gucci Group- a post previously held by men twice his age.

But Tom Ford wanted even more creative freedom, so in 2004 he resigned from Gucci when it was itself bought out by another company, Pinault Printemps Redoute.

The TOM FORD brand debuted in April 2005 to much applause. Tom Ford choose the Marcolin Group to be his production partner for the and distribution of his Tom Ford glasses.

And as you know, the Tom Ford collection has built a stellar reputation ever since then. The brand has won awards from the US Accessory Council and GQ Magazine, to name a few.
