At first the features are sort of confounding when you make the switch from a film camera to a digital one. To avoid being overly confused, the newbie user of digital cameras should get something that is simple and easy to use. You can purchase a digital camera of any complexity you like, from simple to operate right up to the very intricate models with video capability.

Much more about Canon PowerShot explained

Using a digital camera may present difficulties if what you are used to is a simple film camera model. The camera screen shows you what your picture will look like, and you will see if you need to correct the focus, so it is not as simple as pointing and clicking. A sleek look with soft edges, combined with ease of use, make the Canon Powershot A495 appealing to the newbie. The Canon PowerShot A495 has just the perfect blend of style and operating features for people looking for something comfortable to use packaged with good looks. It is a breeze to shoot your picture with impressive color with the 3.3x optical zoom, along with 10.0-mexapixel resolution. The DIGIC III Image Processor makes everything appear crisp and clear.

Taking photos and playing back your images, with the awesome picture offered by the audacious 2.5 inch LED, is a good experience. You have not only one, but three colors to choose from. You can carry the PowerShot A495 in a bag which makes for shooting fast pictures, and it is not a costly camera. It is a basic camera from a reputable company. Naturally, what you get is limited by what you pay, so you shouldn't be looking for $1,000 qualities. You can use the Canon PowerShot A495 with ease right out of the box, and the more so if you have a bit of experience with cameras. You will need to read the user manual if you are unfamiliar with cameras.

The camera will last a long time, though it is made of plastic. It won't suffer from being dropped as easily as the compact cameras, compared with which it is bigger. Even the close-up photographs it captures are of an amazing quality. The PowerShot A495 comes with software that allows you to upload videos, with sound, to YouTube, immediately after having recorded them. The photo editing software application, ZoomBrozer, is superb. It does take several seconds to recharge after you have shot a pic, which is one of the few drawbacks of the Canon PowerShot A495. As you would expect from a camera which runs on two AA batteries, it takes even longer to recharge when the flash is on. The camera doesn't have optical image stabilization, but that is not unusual with this price range of camera, and the same with no optical viewfinder.

The resolution is not great, despite the big LED screen, but it improves vastly when you download and view pictures on your computer. The cost of the Canon Powershot A495 makes it a great camera for a beginner. The slowness of the recharge after snapping a photograph is the worst of the downsides.
