There are so many child stars these days. Can you believe it? Some of them are really just babies when they get started. But some show some major talent early on in life and that makes them the darlings of the entertainment business before they are even old enough to sit up on their own.

Unfortunately, it seems like so many of these child stars just make a total mess out of their whole lives and sometimes even other people's lives. Many of us just sit back and wonder at what makes these kids go wrong. Why can't they seem to get into where they need to be in order to succeed?

Some of these kids don't get the important chance to be kids anymore. They resort to drugs and alcohol because they feel that they are no longer wanted and they have no survivor mechanisms to get them through it.

Child actors don't get the chance that everyone else does, to just be a kid and play and learn. Family and friends are very important. They are usually the ones who observe a problem early on. Don't assume it's nothing. Always err on the side of caution.

These kids don't have the chance to learn how to be normal children, to react to situations in normal ways. Kids need structure. Parents are the key to helping children develop self-discipline and positive character traits.

These kids lose the ability to figure out their own directions in life and so many of them turn to other avenues for regaining their own distinction and opportunity.

This is where the child stars seem to enter into realms of conflict with their lives. The media survives on sensation.

It turns out that whatever gifts they were given in life just aren't enough to make them into model adults they need to be. When they were not immediately fed when hungry, they learned to tell themselves that dinner would be ready soon. This morphed into delay gratification.
