Screen Gems released a new comedy/action movie called "Easy A" into theaters a couple of months ago. I just got done watching it,and I agree with the top critics' positive reviews on this one. It was great.
Ms. Emma Stone should be a comedian because she was a total riot in this flick. Her and Amanda Bynes totally delivered some good drama and comedy. The film stars: Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson, Cam Gigandet, Lisa Kudrow, Malcolm MacDowell, Aly Michalka, and Stanley Tucci.
The film focused on Olive (Emma Stone) who,one day, gives into her friend's intense desires for her to tell her she finally got it on with a college guy. Soon enough, the rumor spreads rapidly throughout the whole school. And,all of a sudden, Olive goes from being unpopular most of the time to being always stared at and talked about. It also doesn't go over with self righteous Christian freak Marianne (Bynes) who constantly tells Olive she needs to beg for forgiveness from her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The craziness doesn't stop there. Eventually, Olive helps out her gay friend Brandon (Dan Byrd) from continuing to get picked on by giving the illusion of having sex with him at a wild party. From there, the rumors strengthened, but Olive embraces them, and continues to help make them even stronger by taking offers from more guys. As the hype of her being a whore continues to spread, she plays the role in convincing style by wearing sexy outfits with the letter "A" on them.
Towards the end of the movie, one final moment makes Olive want to set the real record straight. I think the film was extremely funny. It included scenes, which featured Olive making fake sex noises with Brandon, lots of fast, witty comebacks,Olive's mother saying that she was a slut in high school, and more.
The laughs just never stopped in this flick. It was never dull, and kept me extremely entertained the whole time. That Emma Stone is a great actress. This movie made me a fan of hers. It was great to see Amanda Bynes back on the big movie screen . She was hilarious as well. Penn Badgley did a real good job as the cool,low-key guy named Woodchuck Todd. If you want to giggle hard,go watch this movie. I gave it a great "A+" grade.
