Bollywood stars are interacting with the masses through Twitter. Stars have started tweeting in a huge way, finding time to connect with fans between their hectic shooting schedules. Responding equally and more excitedly are the followers of these on screen idols, with big-time stars taking pride in the long list of online followers.

With the availability of Twitter on cell phones, fans like Bollywood mobile, connecting to their favorite movie stars any time they want to.

The main aim of Bollywood tweeting, as one would imagine, is to stay on moviegoers' radar and try to be as visible as possible. Film stars use Twitter for promotional activities, including their newest films, restaurant openings, gyms and fashion lines. Tweeting is not limited to only promotions, with stars writing on social problems, expressing their political views and even sharing personal experiences with their followers. One can see Priyanka Chopra who actually gives advice to her fans to recuperating Lisa Ray who tweeted about her fight with melanoma and fortunate recovery.

The recent plane crash in Mangalore airdrome had left Amitabh Bachchan sad and he shared his thoughts with fans on Twitter.

Stars of all generations love tweeting. Veteran actor Shammi Kapoor is a huge fan of twitter and he tweets very often. He was lately in the news because he asked starlet Deepika Padukone (also on twitter) to spend time with him through Twitter.

The newest star to join the twitter bandwagon is Amitabh Bachchan himself who has pulled together a whopping 39,000 fans within just three days of joining the site. Shahrukh and Salman have also become popular in Twitter with a fan following of 148,489 and 394,736 respectively.

In case of Show business, any kind of publicity is welcome. All credit to Twitter which has given a new meaning to 'mobile Bollywood' and made it easy for stars and their fans to communicate easily.
