Comical Hindi Films

Comical movies in Hindi take up a special space in the industry and have been pulling in the public for a lot of years. When you are watching humorous movies, you are happy and troubling thoughts do not bother you. These films prove to be stress relievers for men and women of all ages which is a reason why there is a big rush to watch the newest comical Hindi films in cinema halls.

The comical flicks finding a place in the list of the biggest grossers of 2009 were 'All the Best: Fun Begins', 'Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani' and 'De Dhana Dhan'. Some of the newest Bollywood movies belonging to comedy genre released in 2010 like 'Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai' and 'Housefull' were loved by the public.

New Bollywood films are experimenting various genres of comedy. Comedies are divided into different types or genres such as physical comedy, spoof, blue comedy, deadpan comedy and black comedy. A good instance of black comedy in Hindi movies would be Zoya Akhtar's 'Luck by Chance' with Farhan Akhtar in the lead. It narrates the story of an upcoming actor and his struggles to become a star in Bollywood.

'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!' with Abhay Deol is another black comedy which was praised by the critics. 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron', starring Om Puri and Satish Shah is another black comedy film liked by many.

Examples for blue comedy films are 'Dostana' and 'Masti' which have double implicit meanings and besmirching undertones. Comedy films such as these referred to the taboo topic of homosexuality and these films received mixed responses.

People who liked these movies opinionated that Indian films should welcome the concept of homosexuality with an open mind. Critics say the gay community has been shown in a humiliating way in Bollywood comedies, doing more damage than good.

Early comedy films like 'Padosan', 'Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi', and 'Angoor' to recent ones like 'Andaaz Apna Apna' and 'Hera Pheri' will always be remembered and acknowledged by the audience.
