When choosing to purchase a custom garment, know that you have taken a giant step down from the bespoke suit. Still, certain amenities are to be expected. The pattern maker, designer, or tailor should be the only ones to measure you for your suit. Promptly leave any NY store that will allow a salesperson to do this task. A pattern is cut for each client but often details have to be excluded in order to stay within the details of the pattern. Always try and locate a designer that will take your needs into consideration and remain open to creating new cuts. In three to eight weeks you should become the proud owner of one or more tailor made suits. If you find you are happy with the workmanship done, this is the store that you will wish to frequent.
